Expert Symposium Master Plan 2030

Expert Symposium Master Plan 2030

Together with the specialist magazine “industrieBAU“, S + P arranged an expert symposium master plan that found considerable resonance. Dr. Martin Schönheit explained in  his introductory lecture the designing background of “Lean Green Clean“. This approach provides answers to the questions of sustainable and profitable planning of industrial buildings with the help of a master plan.

This subject is of particular interest because land is no longer available in unlimited quantities and by intelligent reorganisation of grown structures additional space can be created. In consideration of the Lean-aspect, the production is reorganised at a very early planning date. Logistics becomes extremely important as Wolfgang Ehrk from Oerlikon impressively demonstrated in his contribution. After the development of a master plan, a new lean logistics centre was established. 45% savings in assembly process and  considerably reduced processing times speak for themselves. Additionally, the conscious decision was made to keep the site in the urban environment- with its attractiveness for employees and its excellent infrastucture.
Dr. Bernhard Frohn explained the Green concept.  With respect to sustainability special attention must be paid to the life cycle costs. Over the years of ongoing operations, low investment costs turn out to be an expensive decision due to high operations cost. Already at the stage of master plan the building energy requirements can be demonstrated in a simulation programme. However, the monitoring after the realisation is imperative to avoid execution errors.
Hans-Walter Kern, Managing Director of Brand Laborglas, pointed out that a master plan helps to think on a long-term basis. The simplification of structure by means of procedural path and axle systems as well as a complex cleanroom with more than 3,000 square meters were realised under the headline  “Clean“. Further steps of the master plan are expected to take place in 2015.

The presentations demonstrated that - also in the future - a sustainably profitable growth can be ensured in the industrial location Germany.
